20 years in a company means 20 years of history and passion. As we enter our 21st year, we wanted to recognize the employees who have helped build Momentum Technologies by working for the company since its inception. In this article, we’d like to introduce you to Karine Allaire, today Momentum’s director and manager extraordinaire.

We sat down with Karine Allaire, Momentum Technologies’ first official employee, to ask her a few questions about her career!

Momentum Technologies was born in 2003, and right from the start, Karine saw potential and seized it.
In a short interview, we asked her “Why did you choose Momentum?”.
“I knew 4 of Momentum’s 5 founders well. I’ve always had a lot of respect for them and thought they were interesting people. So I handed in my CV to go and work for the new company that Bruno, Daniel, Marco, Yvan and Michel were in the process of creating.”

Being a mentor to many people in the organization today, Karine saw a human potential at Momentum that she continues to perpetuate in her daily actions. With her strong technical and management skills, she enables the people around her to find their X and excel.
With 20 years’ experience in the company, soon to be 21, we couldn’t pass up asking her for her advice or secret to staying with a company for so long.

Going through all the stages of a company’s growth and evolution certainly requires a good capacity for adaptation, but what other ability can help a person evolve in a company? Karine shared her tips with us:
“The key is certainly communication. Don’t hesitate to talk to the people you work with. You have to communicate what’s going well and what’s going badly. The company allows you to progress and move forward, and the human side of a company greatly favors this progression. At Momentum Technologies, I’ve always found that human side.

In my career path, I’ve moved around a lot. I started out as an analyst-programmer in Oracle technologies, in which I specialized. Over time, I moved into business intelligence. I became HR manager and recently took up the position of director. For me, this advancement is very rewarding. I like to invest myself in my work and in the people I work with. Once again, the human side of things means a lot to me: growing, learning, evolving and helping others to do the same brings me a lot.

Today, as a BI architect, I still face many technical challenges. I like consulting and I understand that it brings challenges in terms of relationships within the company. Being alone on the client side can make you feel further away from people. I remember arriving at a Christmas party and hardly knowing anyone. Since I’m familiar with this difficulty, I offer a lot of my time today to help people have great experiences and integrate into the company.”

Someone so passionate and dedicated must have a ton of passions in her personal life! Karine was kind enough to share a little about what motivates her on a daily basis.

“I’m a mom, my children are my biggest priority as well as my family.

I also have a great passion for animals. I have two dachshund dogs at home and not so long ago we also had my son’s dog (border collie) before he left the family home. I’m his official guardian when he goes on vacation or weekend. For 5 years, we had 3 dogs at home!

I also love to cook, read and enjoy nature and sunsets. On my vacations, I get away from the city to enjoy nature.”

We hope this profile has inspired you to find a business that aligns with your values and pushes you to be the best version of yourself! Thank you Karine for sharing, we wish you a great 21st year at Momentum Technologies.
